❀ Frédérique's ❀ Handkerchiefdress...

A tribute to Kikihalb ♧ Forest~Tales ♧...

When i started looking for Inspiration on Flickr! i quickly found this artist who works with Blythe! She sew's really elaborate dresses and gowns, everything by hand and everything very detailed. It's a joy to go on her Flickr!-account and i found a Tutorial, which she shared! So i sat down and made a little dress out of a Floral printed cotton handkerchief, which is the trademark of Frèdèique, for Barbie.

I hope she smiles if she might by any chance ever see this ;)

I used Renaissance fair Barbie again for this Shooting! She's the one I started with. I finally gave her a Re-root in tickled pink and snow-white, saran hair from mylittlecustoms.
I made the Roombox, the screen/paravent and the flowers after the book 'The-Big-Book-Miniature-House', by Lea Frisoni (I highly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in making miniature's and Roomboxes). The sidetables are orders from Ebay

Thank's for visiting!

Alice in Wonderland...

Making myself happy...

Since I can remember I always loved Alice in Wonderland.  I loved to read the book, I loved the Disney-movie from the 50ties and ther was also an animated series around in the 80ies that i loved to watch.
I think it's a perfect theme for Barbie because when Alice shrinks and talks to the flowers in the Disney version she might be at about Barbie's size. So I loved to playAlice with my Barbie.
What I dont undestand is that Mattel has not offered a satisfying version lately. Of course there are the 'Skipper as Alice' Dolls from the 90ties and there was this more artistic version a few years ago. But was there any original or Disney Inspired version yet? I mean really like 'Barbie as Alice..'?
No there was not. But of course we get another set of 'Gone with the wind'-Scarlets and 'Oz-Dohrothy's'.

So there's nothing else to do than making myself happy and create one by myself. This is what I came up with, this is what I would like to see from Mattel!

Enjoy!

I used 'Daria Celebutante'. She got a reroot in Blondicous and Dark-Maibu  (Saran hair fom MyLittleCustom)

Hope you love her as much as I do!

Summer of '69!

So this was the summer!

Yes, I think this was it. It already starts to get colder and I the days are shorter. We also have a lot of rain here.
I experimented this year. With new doll stands and a landscape model i made. Also i did a lot of re-roots. Unfortunately i did not make as much pics as i wanted. I got  a new Rococo-Gown waiting to be photographed but i just aint got time to do it.

So for now we are in the 60ies again. Barbie goes to Woodstock, kind of. ;)

Listening to: Stop Children What's That Sound - Jefferson Airplane

Enjoy!

I used my Joan Jett Barbie again and my new girl, Green Lantern Barbie, who i finally found on Amazon! I rerooted her with a custom blend of Ash-Blonde and Platinium Blonde (www.mylittlecustoms.com) All Dresses and pics are made by me.

Be kind to one another,

Corn Poppy Summer in 1785 / Robe a l'anglaise

Summer 2013 has arrived...

...and i am going back to 1785. All winter long i was sewing and crafting and finally, summer is back. I am not at all a "Winter-Person", as i said before. So you had to wait for new pictures, and i am sorry for that. But as you see, and as I hope, it was worth it. I will always keep on sewing for Barbie and post, I just dont do it regular. So thanks to all my Fans, Followers and Visitors for waiting.

What you see here is a 1780-85 inspiered Summer-Gown, made out of a cotton fabric. At these times people where reading Voltaire and had enough from the aristocratic, artificial, fussy Rococo. There was a "go back to nature"-movement in progress that lead to the french revolution in the end. Of course, living in these modern days, the fashion seems not natural to us at all. But i love the romantic feeling, the prints and more simpler patterns. At the same time the Hairstyles where bigger then ever before, but cool-people already started to lose the wigs. I was inspiered by the more "narural" Grey-white curly Hairstyles and decided to just let it down. I gave her a hot-water perm and it turned out really nice. You can also see one of my first re-roots here.

Last year i missed the time of the the corn poppy, when fields are all red red , so i planed a little better this year. And I got wind! ;)

I used "Barbie 2007" And gave her a re-root with a custom blend of HiHo-silver and Snow-White (mylittlecustoms). The Gown and jewellery are, of course, made by me.

Enjoy!

Listeng to: Franz Schubert - German Dance No. 1 in C major (Barry Lyndon Soundtrack)

So have a great summer 2013! From my side there is a lot more to come!  So be curious and keep on visiting!

Love to the world.

Underwater Floating

Drowning.

I remember, when i was a child, i loved to play with Barbie in water. We have a huge garden where i grew up. There was a big conatiner with rainwater in the back. My parents used to water the flowers with it. I always used to play Barbie there. I can`t really remember what Storys i made up. Maybe she was on a desert Island or living underwater, like Arielle. But i remember that she always had to wear  flowy Gowns. I loved the way her hair and the Gowns moved...

I also want this Blogg to be about my Barbie-Fashion Photography and Inspiration for you, my Reader. As you already know, if you follow my posts,  I acctually still love to play with my Barbies. Just in more grown up way. Babie is the ultimate Fashion Model and she does not complain at all. You can do whatever you want with her. So this time, i was creative with water and tulle, to pay tribute, to my inner child..... Enjoy!

Listening to:  Abel Korzeniowski - `Drowning`(A single man Soundtrack)

I used, again, Renaissance Fair Barbie and Barbie Basics 002 Model Nr. 14. All pics are taken with my Hipstamatic-App on the I-phone! Fashion is a mix of Old&New, Playline and Collector-Line!

Hope you have a great summer so far!

Be kind to one another...
