Ginger Mona-Lisa...

So summer is almost over. I worked a lot on a Roombox but i am not ready enough to show it. But i feel comfortable to already talk about it, because it will be finished, soon...

I also made two Re-roots, one showing you with this post. I finally found time to transform my Mona-Lisa Barbie into a redhead!  I think she got the perfect lip- and eyecolour for red hair. She is one ot the rather rare Barbies to have her eyes painted to look slightly to the side, which makes her special!

I mixed 4 copper-tones to blend into this colour. She wears a simple blouse with lace and my first skirt ever! Weird, but i just made dresses until now.

Also you can see my 'Test'-Roombox, as i like to call it. I had to start somewhere so I made a very small one, just to see how it all works.

Little Summer-Boho Dress....

Since I am renovating my little country-apartment this summer I do not have so much time for Barbie, sadly. But I made this little Boho-summer dress a while ago and finally got the time to take pics.

I used Barbie Nr. 08 from the Basics Jeans-Line and rerooted her with a custom blend of Original Brunette and Hazelnut, both Saran Hair from www.mylittlecustoms.co.uk. I totally love her. I think she got the perfect lip colour...

The fabric I used for the dress is thin cotton mousseline from Liberty!...

Have a great summer,

Axel

Summer of '69!

So this was the summer!

Yes, I think this was it. It already starts to get colder and I the days are shorter. We also have a lot of rain here.
I experimented this year. With new doll stands and a landscape model i made. Also i did a lot of re-roots. Unfortunately i did not make as much pics as i wanted. I got  a new Rococo-Gown waiting to be photographed but i just aint got time to do it.

So for now we are in the 60ies again. Barbie goes to Woodstock, kind of. ;)

Listening to: Stop Children What's That Sound - Jefferson Airplane

Enjoy!

I used my Joan Jett Barbie again and my new girl, Green Lantern Barbie, who i finally found on Amazon! I rerooted her with a custom blend of Ash-Blonde and Platinium Blonde (www.mylittlecustoms.com) All Dresses and pics are made by me.

Be kind to one another,

Axel

Floating 70ies!

Hello Everyone!

I love doing underwater-editorials! It"s a lot of work but also fun at the same time! Since Barbie does not much but being beautiful, I have to do everything. You wont believe all the things you have to think of. First you need to find the right light. Then you need to place and pose Barbie, you need to watch out that you are not on the pic, you have to put weight on your shoulders or hips to stay underwater. And because i dont use a oxygen bottle, i have to do everything holding my breath, hoping that the diving goggles dont steam up.

I use my I-phone to take the pics. I bought a underwater-case for it which works very well. Its just a little hard to see what pic you acctually have taken because there is a lot of reflection when shooting in daylight/sun. So I never know what i got until i open the case.

But I think I got a few pretty good shoots here.

I decided to do some 70ies inspired summer-dresses. I got some nice fabric from liberty-art-fabrics ,they have great prints and very thin cotton-mousseline, ideal for miniatur-tailoring.

I was born in the 70ies, so maybe thas why i love this era so much. Flower-prints, romantic gowns, long hair and platforms may never go out of fashion. When i look at the dresses i feel like they would work today and i know a lot of girls who would wear them

Since i am a big Project Runway fan i also found a lot of inspiration in Uli Herzners flowy gowns...

Enjoy!

I used my two OOAK-girls again (find out more here) Right now i am rerooting some more girls. I think i need to do a blonde for once. I am trying to get GreenLantern-Barbie for like months now. Totally love her in blonde. We will see, she plays hard-to-get with me.

Earrings are from Topmodel-Teresa and On Location - Barcelona. Silver bracelet is from Tim Gunn, the golden ones are custom.

Hope you enjoy your summer! Have you been on Holiday yet?

Be nice to one another,

Axel

Corn Poppy Summer in 1785 / Robe a l'anglaise

Summer 2013 has arrived...

...and i am going back to 1785. All winter long i was sewing and crafting and finally, summer is back. I am not at all a "Winter-Person", as i said before. So you had to wait for new pictures, and i am sorry for that. But as you see, and as I hope, it was worth it. I will always keep on sewing for Barbie and post, I just dont do it regular. So thanks to all my Fans, Followers and Visitors for waiting.

What you see here is a 1780-85 inspiered Summer-Gown, made out of a cotton fabric. At these times people where reading Voltaire and had enough from the aristocratic, artificial, fussy Rococo. There was a "go back to nature"-movement in progress that lead to the french revolution in the end. Of course, living in these modern days, the fashion seems not natural to us at all. But i love the romantic feeling, the prints and more simpler patterns. At the same time the Hairstyles where bigger then ever before, but cool-people already started to lose the wigs. I was inspiered by the more "narural" Grey-white curly Hairstyles and decided to just let it down. I gave her a hot-water perm and it turned out really nice. You can also see one of my first re-roots here.

Last year i missed the time of the the corn poppy, when fields are all red red , so i planed a little better this year. And I got wind! ;)

I used "Barbie 2007" And gave her a re-root with a custom blend of HiHo-silver and Snow-White (mylittlecustoms). The Gown and jewellery are, of course, made by me.

Enjoy!

So have a great summer 2013! From my side there is a lot more to come!  So be curious and keep on visiting!

Love to the world.
